Information Systems Security Specialist

Job Description

GDIT is currently looking for an experienced Information Systems Security Specialist with a current TS clearance, with eligibility for SCI access, to join its mission critical team located in Washington, DC. All candidates must have the knowledge and experience to effectively monitor, manage, assess, and evaluate information security programs. A competitive candidate should have the following experience and knowledge, which must be clearly described in the resume, along with current security clearance status:

• Plan, develop, implement, and maintain programs, policies, and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of stand-alone systems, networks, and data
• Provide systems security management to ensure stand-along information systems / networks are operated and maintained, in accordance with applicable guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Develop, identify, and administer unit information systems security awareness training
• Monitor the development of system / network accreditation documentation and / or process re-accreditation paperwork, when needed
• Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standing operation procedures as it pertains to information system security
• Conduct risk assessments, as required, and in accordance with applicable IS regulations and policies
• Conduct security and vulnerability assessments
• Maintain a current level of awareness pertaining to the physical requirements for accreditation and processing within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs)

Minimal telecommuting allowed to support response to crisis events similar to COVID-19 pandemic

Required Qualifications:

• Seven (7) years of relevant experience in information systems security
• IAT Level III certified
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance, with SCI eligibility
• Must have knowledge and experience producing, handling, storing, transmitting, and transporting classified materials, up to and including Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAPs) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Prior military experience
