As a Business Process Analyst, you will gather, analyze, and communicate business requirements across clients, external partners, and internal team members. You will evaluate data sources relative to business needs, conduct research and perform work and analysis to support data and requirements. You will develop solutions and create documents to support assigned tasks. To succeed in this role, you should have an analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Conduct requirements gathering
Identify, analyze, and document core business processes and workflow.
Develop detailed process maps and business requirements.
Identify issues and risks.
Gather pertinent facts, making thorough analyses, and arriving at sound conclusions.
Gather critical information from various stakeholders and producing useful reports to disseminate information in clear, complete, and logical form.
Plan and present clear, concise, and effective presentations using non-technical language
Participate in process mapping and business process re-engineering.
Documenting and effectively communicating work results and findings.
Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
Manage competing resources and priorities to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Work with stakeholders and colleagues including architects, developers, clients, users, and managerial staff.
BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
5+ years of business analysis and data management
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms.
The ability to work closely with stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions.
Experience in business process designs and facilitation.
Understanding of the development and use of metadata and standards.
Navy Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education (MPT&E) data experience a plus
The likely salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
