General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a leading provider of systems engineering, integration, IT service operations and support solutions, is seeking talented professionals to deliver valuable services and solutions to our customers.  GDIT has a great team consisting of experienced and knowledgeable managers who lead and support the career development objectives of our employees.  Our employees consider the company to be a solid partner in their career.The purpose of this position is to provide direct Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) assistance to the Office of Science and Engineering, Technology Centers Division, Advanced Computing Branch, Cybersecurity Research Area in its efforts to identify, prevent, protect, detect, and defend against intrusions to cyber networks.  Duties and Responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for providing on going analytics and identifying issues related to a variety of non-technical and technical project deliverable(s); as it relates to requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation.  
  • Conducts research and analytical studies on a variety of programs and issues; coordinates and expedites reports and program; develops procedures; formulates recommendations and prepares reports.
  • Conduct organizational analysis and evaluations, to determine functional requirements, conduct work simplification and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.
  • Assists in coordinating and facilitating research on cutting edge cybersecurity techniques and methods. Interprets and validates technical reports on cyber-related research, development, methods, techniques and tools.
  • Assists in coordinating with experts from multiple agencies to analyze activities including malicious cyber attacks. Provides significant technical input into policies, procedures and technology development for countering cyber threats.
  • Assistance in advising Leadership on scientific concepts, potential threats and impacts of cyber attacks. 
  • Provide Cyber SME assistance to Cyber related programs
 Qualifications required:
  • Currently possess and maintains personal competence in Cybersecurity tools, techniques, procedures, policies, and technology.
  • Ability to provide Cyber SME assistance in identifying research opportunities; Ability to provide Cyber SME assistance in Review of potential gaps, deficiencies and requirements for new research and development efforts; and coordination of cyber-related research and development activities within other Homeland Security Enterprise equities, other S&T Divisions, academia, and industry.
  • Ability to work autonomously in identifying, solving, and reporting on Research and Development topics, as needed, for the Homeland Security Enterprise.
