GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Trojan/Prophet Electronics Engineer working in Southwest Asia. The selected Candidate must have a current and active TS/SCI w/POLY clearance. The role will be as Trojan/Prophet FSR to work at the front end of the delivery of our operation. This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, suitably experienced, qualified, and able to follow instructions clearly and make informed decisions. Specific systems may include Trojan Spirit II (V)2/3, Trojan Spirit LITE (V)1/2/3, and Prophet T- LITE.
Performs inspections of system components, preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the lowest replaceable unit.
Performs moderately complex technical functions such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, or specialized test equipment to support products or product performance to validate, investigate and resolve matters of significance.
Read and interpret schematic and engineering drawings and diagrams. Perform operational test and return to service checks.
Configures computer software, communications devices, and peripheral equipment to operate within designated networks.
Experienced with various COMSEC equipment and configurations, communication system, data-networks to include Fiber-Optics/Networks, and VOIP.
Perform logistic support requirements such as research, and equipment and spare part inventories.
Provide technical representation at meetings and consultations with clients or their representatives.
Manages customer expectations as the on-site company representative.
Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.
Interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful way.
Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast pace environment on multiple projects.
Work with minimal supervision, documents maintenance tasks via local or web- based reporting system, provides system functional briefings to customer and supervisor.
Trains customer personnel at the installation site in proper use of highly specialized electronic equipment.
Performs all other duties assigned.
May be required to go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.
Majority of time spent providing repairs in a shop environment and at the customer location.
The Ideal Candidate must have:
High School Diploma and 9 years of experience (AA/AS plus 7 years or BA/BS plus 5 years or MA/MS+ 3 years)
An active U.S. Government TOP SECRET/SCI w/POLY clearance.
Valid driver's license.
US passport must not expire for at least 2 more years and must have at least 4 blank pages in it.
Strong background in electronics, and communications to include tactical Satellite Systems (Trojan Spirit II (V)2/3, Trojan Spirit LITE (V)1/2/3, Prophet T- LITE).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Possess high reliability soldering skills and is experienced in repair of PCB (Printed Circuit Boards), and in the use of Test Equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, millimeter's, power meters and DC power supplies.
Ability to meet internal paperwork requirements.
Minimum of three years Electronics/Communications technical experience.
Experience working in hostile and austere environments.
Experience in Customer support.
