At GDIT, people are our differentiator. The Sponsor has an immediate need for a Software Developer/Systems Engineer who shall be directly involved in the enhancement of capabilities and maintenance of a custom production application which provides workflow and research to support the Sponsor and Sponsor’s partners with the ability to review, disposition, build a profile and update and/or nominate candidates to other IC organizations.
The selected candidate will support the development of an updated Angular User Interface and Java based API integrated with an Oracle backend. This candidate will work as part of an existing multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate software tools in a mission-oriented, Lean Agile development project in the Sponsors cloud infrastructure to support growth as a data focused analysis provider.
The candidate will work directly with the Program Manager and other technical team members to develop and maintain production software. The candidate will be required to prepare applicable documentation, present on related topics at Sprint meetings, and coordinate and communicate directly with the customer and other development teams.
The Contractor shall have experience working with applications in the Sponsor’s cloud environment. The contractor shall provide support for the implementation, design and building enhancements, and long term maintenance of a new application. The Contractor shall design and develop the application in a Web environment. The Contractor shall analyze user needs and develop software solutions as well as design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. The Contractor shall analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. The Contractor shall perform testing, debugging and quality assurance of the application. The contractor will play a major role in implementing a modern, high profile, mission enabling application used daily.
The candidate shall have the following required skills and demonstrated experience with:
Version control systems (Git)
The following software development Mark Up Languages: XML, JSON, CSS, HTML
Linux and/or Unix
Front-end web development with Angular 2 or above
Agile development methodologies and JIRA
Sponsor networks, systems and services
Working in a fast-paced, technically challenging area; ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems; assess impacts and recommend sound solutions
The Sponsor authentication and authorization (ATO) process
Minimum of 6 years related experience
Security clearance: TS/SCI w/full scope poly
Other demonstrated experience which are highly desired, though not required include:
Delivering solutions with AWS cloud services
Delivering solutions using AWS cloud services
Full stack environment
Build automation tools (such as Gradle, Maven)
The development of system prototypes and proof of concept in order to demonstrate proper application of design principles
Continuous integration systems (Jenkins)
Upgrading and refining existing production applications (working with legacy code)
Supporting enterprise level production systems

Provides guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers.
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes.
May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of experience
