GDIT is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Heart Lung and Blood Institute’s( NHLBI) software portfolio. The Analyst will deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness, reach, and content of these software solutions, while reducing their technical debt.  You will be responsible for contributing across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on analysis. As such, this role requires a combination of understanding software requirements and to validate the implementation of those requirements through testing.  You will apply behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches to align these analysis and testing activities.  The best candidate has a strong understanding of industry trends and using agile methodologies for analysis and applying user experience/user interface (UI/UX) design methods.

Responsibilities:

  •    Capture and express requirements with a variety of techniques including BDD-style specifications, API specifications, user stories, use cases and mockups
  • Conduct interviews and studies with product owners, users and other stakeholders to identify candidate requirements
  • Analyze existing systems interfaces and documents.
  •     Describe and execute test cases
  • Collaborate with the team on agile activities including to estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives
  •    Manage requirements using a backlog, and collaborate with product-owners to prioritize the backlog
  •   Manage the flow of development from idea to release

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline and 2 plus years of work experience, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  •   Ability to express requirements using behavior-driven development (BDD), specification by example or similar approach
  • Experience engaging users and other stakeholders to capture requirements for software development
  • Experience harvesting requirements from reading existing documents and/or code.
