At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Mission Software Developer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to understand the technical and functional design requirements related to the ServiceNow and Sharepoint Platforms. In this role a typical day will include:

  • Creating and managing scripts and workflows.
  • Developing and implementing Service Now modules to include the creation and/or customization of core applications such as Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Service Request Management and Knowledge Management.
  • Sharepoint:
    - Migrating SharePoint site collections (potentially from 2016 to 2019)
    - Weekly O&M for high visibility site collections.
    - Assessment on SharePoint issues.
    - Providing guidance/recommendations for team to include SI, tester and other developers.
    - Interaction with senior customer management
  • Service Now:
    - Migration apps from SharePoint to Service Now.
    - Scaled agile development familiarity
    - Integrating Service Now with other applications
    - Establishing procedures/ processes for the Service Now team.
    - Training junior team members
    - Problem solving skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or a technical discipline related to the specific skill, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Technical Skills:
    - Experience with system integration using web services and other web technologies (XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP)
    - Experience with other scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)
    - Experience with JavaScript
    - Experience with extending the Service Now Schema to customer applications.
    - Experience with Service Now data model, capabilities and relationships
    - Experience with relational databases
    - Experience with the Service Now business rules and all of the scripting aspects of the Service Now platform.
  • Preferred but not required:
    Service Now Developer Certification (Certified Application Developer)

Analyze user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs.

Provides guidance in creating a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application.

Provides guidance to all phases of the software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging process to meet business needs.

Provides valued analysis on software project specifications, activities, or status.

Advises on the software or system process for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates.

May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

May serve as a mentor to less experienced analysts.

May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of experience
