Our work depends on Cloud Engineers of all levels joining our team to support Defense Health activities at San Antonio, TX, Rosslyn, VA, and remote locations.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cloud Engineer supporting Defense Health, you will be trusted to work on and enable evolution of best-in-class infrastructure capabilities in cloud and reliability engineering. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Collaborating with Defense Health to solve infrastructure and cloud management challenges
  • Standing up an Infrastructure and Cloud management platform to support project teams
  • Working closely with project teams in their pods as part of DevSecOps
  • Enabling transition to continuous release and deployment of capabilities
  • Tracking and reporting on outcomes and success metrics
  • Introducing best practices in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) through self-paced learning for both IT and operational leaders, providing an overview of technical and culture fundamentals
  • Training developers, operations, and product owners in core SRE culture and practices
  • Applying SRE practices to a sub-set of an application by drafting Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and performing risk analysis
  • Performing SRE skills gap analysis and build an upskilling plan for existing personnel
  • Establishing an on-boarding plan for new SREs.
  • Building candidate personas, practicing SRE design principles and training to interview candidates
  • Your success will be measured through the direct improvements to application availability, reliability, and customer experience scores

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud Platform, DISA Cloud (Stratus is plus)
  • Knowledge of RMF, FedRAMP (High), NIST controls
  • Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570 cyber & technical certifications (Cloud +, Security + , CISSP, vendor certifications etc.)
  • Knowledge and expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certifications with AWS, Azure, GCP, OCP
  • Expertise in Cloud Native infrastructure tooling and best practices
