GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer Journeyman to provide onsite and remote support for multiple Force Protection System (FPS) Family of Systems (FOS) to the IBD-SS program with operations located at Huntsville AL.

Selected candidates will participate in engineering activities at any point in the system development life cycle including systems analysis/requirements definition design, development, integration, testing, acceptance/deployment, sustainment/maintenance, and evaluation. Experience with Integrated Base Defense (IBD) Kitting, Entry Control Point (ECP), Non-Intrusive Inspection System (NIIS), Rapid Reaction Tunnel Detection (R2TD), Joint Defense Operation Center (JDOC), Combat Outpost Force Protection System (COSFPS), Base Expeditionary Targeting Surveillance System Combined (BETSS-C), BETSS-C Cerberus Scout, BETSS-C Full Motion Video (FMV) , Bistatic Surveillance System (BSS), Rapid Deployment Integrated Surveillance System (RDISS), Force Protection (FP) Suite and Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS, AN/VSS-6A) Suite of Systems is required.
Utilize Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to provide solutions to a variety of problems, establishing Standard Operating Procedures, creating and maintaining documentation, and training materials in accordance with established configuration management, safety and quality assurance processes
Manage the full life cycle of mission systems to include researching, design, procurement, cataloging, installation, testing, and maintenance of Force Protection Systems
Collaborate with team members, government customers, and vendors to facilitate operational improvements and provide reach-back support to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation distribution, sparing, and health reports
Perform moderately complex duties in administering network, servers, clients, and operating systems, including installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting assigned devices and software
Experience addressing diminishing manufacturing sources and materiel shortages
BS degree and 4 years of relevant technical experience or AA degree and 6 years of relevant experience or HS diploma and 8 years of relevant experience
DoD 8570 technical certifications as directed by the government and Program Manager
US Government Secret or higher level security clearance as required
Advanced experience/knowledge of IT principles and practices strongly desired such as certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, and/or VMWare for vSphere
Experience writing technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and creating training materials.
Broad technology experience in systems engineering, FP systems, requirements tracking, testing and validation.
