The GDIT Global CIO (GCIO) Organization is seeking a Program Manager (PM) to lead a team of project managers executing GDIT enterprise projects. This role includes both leading a project as well as leading a team supporting the overall planning, implementation, and migration of Enterprise Information Technology (IT) systems supporting internal company IT, as well as back-office functions such as HR, Finance, Growth, etc.

The candidate reports within the Enterprise CIO (eCIO) IT Program Management Office (PMO). The PM is responsible for and empowered to manage, coordinate, and sequence all tasks of project(s) to include leading and managing the collaboration within and between the Business Units, the IT Business Unit, Supply Chain Management and the contracted support. The PM will provide regular status assessments to multiple levels (C-level to Service Owner) to include, but not limited to, critical path analysis, risks/issues, and budget reporting. Resources across the GCIO will be made available to this PM to mitigate risk and ensure success.


  • Leads a team of 3 to 5 project managers

  • Single accountable party for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative

  • Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit

  • Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners

  • Accountable for one or more initiatives including business, operational, and IT deliverables

  • Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project

  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters

  • Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures

  • Develops communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives

  • Represents the Program in various governance and inter-department forums

  • Chairs minimum of weekly Core Project Team meetings and monthly progress reviews with key constituents/stakeholders

  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan

  • Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts

  • Publishes periodic project status reports

  • Proposes recommendations and adjustments



  • Bachelor Degree in IT related field of study plus minimum five years related experience (as described below) or nine (9) years related experience in lieu of bachelor's degree

  • Five (5) years in a Senior Project Manager role successfully delivering various IT and business solutions in an enterprise setting

  • Five (5) years experience leading a team of project managers

  • Five (5) years experience performing as a Project or Program Manager

  • Three (3) years experience performing in a company (internal) CIO environment

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
