Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology, a world leader in Defense IT Systems Integration and Services is seeking a MILS/VDI Lead to join its Army modernization team.  This position will be for full time employment and will oversee and manage GDIT’s services to implement mission requirements. The MILS/VDI lead shall serve as the primary point of contact between GDIT staff and the customer to analyze, survey, design, implement, test, and transition an enterprise scale MILS/VDI system at multiple global Army) locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and integrate global enterprise VDI infrastructure supporting classified and unclassified systems, data, and users
  • Integrate and implement a Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) user access architecture supporting unclassified and SIPRNet access, while expandable to integrate additional security domains. 
  • Design and implement remote management and automated failover.  Integrate with existing Army capabilities and standards, in particular applications and approved baselines.
  • Support accreditation and system acceptance testing, and transition planning. 
  • Determine to what extent existing Government furnished Equipment (GFE) can be leveraged to support implementation of MILS/VDI capabilities. 
  • Consider integration and migration to IL6 Approved Cloud Capability during design and implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related medical, scientific, or technical discipline is required.        
  • DODI 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level II  
    • Security Certification - Security + or CISSP
    • Compute Certification – Trusted Thin Client, Secure Multi-Level Virtual Platform plus Microsoft Azure or VMware

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions to 5,000 to 50,000 users.
  • 10 years of experience translating requirements into project plans and milestones, directing and implementing plans, and presenting formal project status/plan briefings to Government managers.
  • Experience integrating MILS workstations and thin clients
  • Intermediate to Senior network administration knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, etc.)
  • Intermediate to Senior Windows administration knowledge
  • Intermediate to Senior understanding of security design and architecture, Active Directory/LDAP, and computer virtualization
  • Must be able to coordinate collaboratively with customers and across multiple internal departments
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving installation and/or application errors
  • Experience with supporting/addressing customer training objectives
  • Must be able to work and collaborate remotely with management and team members
  • Desired Experience: VDI and MILS integration preferred
  • Prefer BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security or equivalent work experience
  • Technical certifications to meet DoD 8570 compliance preferred
  • Forcepoint Trusted Thin Client

Clearance:

  • Security Clearance: Shall hold an active Top- Secret (SCI) DoD Clearance

Work Location:

National Capital Region with possible travel CONUS and OCONUS
