Job Description

The Capability Delivery Platform (CDP) provides DevOps tools and pipelines for internal unclassified software development in support of multiple customers and various missions at the IL4 level. Operating in AWS GovCloud, our offering consists of Atlassian Products, GitLab, Sonatype Nexus, and Sonar Cube. The Cloud Engineer and Architect is responsible for architecting/designing, building, maintaining, CDP infrastructure and program environments within AWS and migration of cloud resources to CDP. In this role you will build the infrastructure that delivers DevOps capabilities for software development projects and supports QA efforts. This role reports to the CDP Team Lead in the Intel and Homeland Security Division’s Chief Technology Office.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Design and Architect
    • Migration of AWS environments to GDIT and bring into CDP governance and maintenance.
    • AWS network and infrastructure to support CDP including Transit Gateways.
    • Lead requirements gathering with programs for cloud needs and translate into designs, build activities, and schedules.
    • Cloud landing zones and automated environment standup.
  • Build
    • Destination cloud environments to support migrations.
    • CDP cloud environment.
    • Program driven, net-new, cloud environments.
    • Modification of existing cloud environments to meet CDP tenant and program needs.
    • Support the configuration of AWS to meet security objectives.
  • Maintain
    • Maintain CDP cloud infrastructure and support cost control objectives.
    • Support program cloud environment as requested.
    • Monitor and adjust cloud infrastructure for group to maintain user and pipeline performance.
    • Keep system documentation updated as necessary.
    • Address any configuration required to mitigate security concerns or support security controls.
    • Perform proactive maintenance activities to ensure highly available services.
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Automate
    • Automate Cloud operations, maintenance, and migration activities and functions as appropriate to improve the capability, efficiency, and customer delivery time.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

The candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Expert, five or more years, in AWS infrastructure and networking with a strong understanding of cloud operations and security monitoring capabilities and configurations.

  • At least three years in configuring and maintaining modern automated cloud environments.

  • At least two years of Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

  • At least two years of experience in operations automation.

  • A design and implementation level of experience with cloud identity management and access control concepts.

  • A design and implementation level of experience with cloud Heath and Status monitoring and cost controls.

  • An implementation level of experience understanding of networking concepts to include NAT, application proxies/load balancers, TCP/IP, and routing.

  • Familiarity with the software development process and building automated software development pipelines.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possess an AWS Professional Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer designation or the ability to obtain within six months of hire date.

  • Due to the nature of the work performed and the privileged user access for this position, U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • The willingness and ability to obtain and hold a TS/SCI clearance.

  • Masters Degree or eight years or more experience with training and/or certifications.
