This entry level position will provide a solid foundation in learning and working within High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cloud environments.

The successful candidate's supporting role includes:

  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, analyzes, and manages software programs including: Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-the Shelf (GOTS), and OpenSource applications within HPC and Cloud environments.
  • Develops scripts for use by end-users, application management, and system administrators in these complex environments.
  • Develops documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments.
  • Performs systems and application modeling and analysis on an as-needed basis. Guides end-users in the use of available compilers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Develops solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigating problem areas. Prepares, installs, and tests these applications solutions as potential offerings through user or customer specifications.
  • Assist in performing triage and assignment of user support requests on an as-need basis.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and management of HPC- and Cloud-related scripting and applications.
  • Applies practical knowledge of job typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

Desired Skills

  • Proficient in the Linux/Unix Operating System (e.g. Redhat 7/8, RockyLinux8)
  • Practical experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, bash)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to interact with end users and update user and administrator-level documentation.
  • Familiar in the use of containers for on-premise HPC and Cloud Environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 0+ years of experience

The likely salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
