As a Network Engineer supporting TSS, you will be trusted to work on designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise networks in on-prem and cloud environments. Customers include DHS, HHS and DOD among many others. This role will be performed atBossier City, La.
In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:
Managing firewalls in our Managed Shared Services cloud environment.
Manage large on-prem and cloud infrastructures comprised of CISCO and Juniper equipment.
Creating/managing VLANs in both on-prem and cloud environments.
Troubleshoot technical issues with customer Systems and Applications Engineering teams.
Assists with the creation of network diagrams to provide a graphic representation of a customer’s infrastructure.
Evaluate vulnerability scanning results and assist Sr Engineering with Manufacturer remediation protocol and associated implementation.
Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies.
Work across teams, and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during deployment.
Build and maintain technical relationships with others in the organization and technology providers by participating in cloud technology discussions and aligning solutions with client needs.
Provide communication, ensuring that managers, team members, stakeholders within the organization, and clients are kept informed of relevant trends and projects.
Research new or alternative technologies, document findings, conduct pilots and evaluate multiple vendors, make recommendations, and develop business cases to justify the investment.
Deal with escalations. Make assessments, recommendations or provide solutions to resolve issues.
Mentor and train staff, ensuring they are up to speed on critical processes and technologies related to the organizations’ goals and soft skills needed to succeed.
Develop timelines for projects.
Contribute to budgeting for and understand the financial impact of cloud technology decisions.
Guide the selection, implementation and deployment processes for new cloud technology rollouts.
BA/BS and 2+ years of experience. (Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area is preferred)
Familiarity with network solutions
At least one of the following network certifications - Cisco CCNA, Juniper, Palo Alto, others
Ability to acquire and maintain a DoD clearance
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and requirements
Motivated team player
Preferred Qualifications (optional)
Active cloud certification in either AWS, Azure or Google Microsoft certifications
An active CCNP certification is a plus
SDWAN – Silver Peak, VeloCloud and Viptela
SDDC – ACI, VMware NSX
