At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Software Developer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to create and implement an array of Web-based products using Apache Tomcat, PHP, MySql, Ajax, Java and JavaScript as well as develop back-end components, connect the application with other web services, and assist front-end developers by ensuring their work integrates with the application. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Applies advanced knowledge and provides guidance to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Applies advanced knowledge in analyzing user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs.
  • Applies advanced knowledge to create a wide-variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application.
  • Applies advanced knowledge and provides guidance for software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs.
  • Provides advanced and highly-valued analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status.
  • Provides advanced knowledge and guidance on the software or system process for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates.
  • Provides testing, development and integration of plug-ins for popular frameworks and the web page for errors per client feedback.
  • May serve as a mentor to less experienced analysts and team or task lead (Not a people manager).

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of Apache Tomcat Server, Identification & Authentication, PHP, MySQL, SSL.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph; Additional Security Scrub is required
