Essential Job Functions

Tasks and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Handling complex employee relations issues or concerns (e.g., investigations related to alleged discrimination, harassment, or retaliation, etc.) consistent with Company protocol and in a timely fashion.
  • Counseling and assisting employees at all levels with ER-related issues.
  • Recommending or facilitating appropriate actions to correct problems
  • Exercising judgment and providing analysis involving extremely complex and diverse ER issues grounded in in-depth review of company policies, procedures, employment law legislation, and other factors.
  • Engaging in strategy to design and help implement proactive programs and plans related to minimizing ER risk and providing great employee experiences..
  • Partnering with HR Business Partners, program management, legal counsel, Compliance, Workplace Accommodations, Ethics, and other GDIT resources on sensitive ER matters.
  • Providing guidance to other ER Analysts and/or HR Business Partners, as appropriate.
  • Facilitating manager training sessions, employee focus groups, and/or exit interviews.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, and training
  • 6+ years of human resources or employee relations experience
  • Two of the six years must include experience conducting workplace investigations
  • Skilled in basic HR and employment law principles
  • Experience interacting with senior leaders and employees on employee relations issues
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
