The Curriculum Developer (CD) will be assigned to the Naval Civil Engineering Corps Officers School (CECOS) learning site and will work onsite at the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) in Port Hueneme, CA.
The CD will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of assigned functional areas to coordinate and manage the development and maintenance of curricula and to ensure schedules and standards are met. Responsibilities may also include individual production work, such as test development or minor course updates.
Position is located on-site at CSFE to facilitate communication and coordination with course managers and instructors:
Design and develop curriculum for ILT, ILE and IMI training, including: analyze, design, develop, produce, and provide instructional material for promulgation in a systematic manner.
Plan and produce instructional materials.
Develop training materials including tasks, learning objectives, content, lesson maps, instructional strategies, learning events and activities, and test items.
Design interface and controls for Interactive Multi-Media products.
Develop lesson plans, exercise controller guides, on-the-job training handbooks, and student materials including information sheets, diagram sheets, job sheets, assignment sheets, problem sheets, and outline sheets.
Develop testing plans, test administrator's guide, test question spreadsheets (typically Excel formats) for import to CeTARS, and a cross reference list of test items and related learning objectives.
Designs and develops instructional approaches and/or strategies to meet training requirements.
Conduct analysis of training requirements and media requirements.
Develop appropriate training objectives and test methods and designs instructionally valid training materials.
Ensure integrity of task analysis, training requirements, training hierarchies, instructional materials, and evaluation plans.
Design and develops computer based training, web-based training, electronic performance support systems and other technology-based learning solutions.
Develop flow diagrams and story boards.
Design instructionally sound lessons in a variety of delivery media.
Interacts with customer and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelor’s Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Experience with NAVEDTRA 130 (series), knowledgeable of NAVEDTRA 132 (series), 133 (series), 134 (series), 135 (series), 136 (series), NAVEDTRA 137 (series) and NETCINST 1510.3(series).
Experience with Naval Construction Force (individual or multiple NCF officer and enlisted ratings and functional areas).
