US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
The team is designing and building an enterprise network based on the core, aggregate, and edge architecture to support USBICES global enterprise mission support services.
Responsible for analyzing requirements in order to complete reliable and accurate cost estimates for the US BICES Program
Ability to apply a broad range of technical skills and knowledge to include operating systems, security, and virtualization, to production systems
Work with a variety of functional groups to include Logistics, Systems and Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Software Teams to design and engineer secure solutions
Work with vendors to learn about emerging technology
Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks
Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to test applications and tools in a controlled lab environment for operational accreditation
Participate in special projects as assigned.
9 years of related systems engineering experience.
BA/BS and Master’s degree, may substitute additional years of experience
Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.
Strong experience in a highly virtualized environment with VMware products to include install and maintenance of ESXi hosts, vCenter, vSphere, vSAN, and other VM technologies.
Understanding of Microsoft domain services to include Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, and other enterprise tools.
Ability to apply controls in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other similar and appropriate IA and security tools.
Experience with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and other DoD approved vulnerability assessment tools.
Experience with vendor relationship and cost estimation.
Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V3 Foundation within six months of hire.
LINUX experience highly desired
MS Windows Certification (MCSA/MCSE)
Extensive SQL administration highly desired
PowerShell and PowerCli experience
Depending on job assignment, additional specific certifications may be required
