At GDIT, people are our differentiator. The System Engineer will work on system performance and brief the customer on the status. Additionally, this position will help identify, measure, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) critical to the organizations performance and success. Lastly this person will be involved in designing, developing and testing big data solutions to address high priority and oftentimes sensitive needs. This include building and implementing tools and capabilities over vast arrays of unstructured data to yield informative and predictive insights.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Minimum of 10 years related experience.
Demonstrated experience architecting, designing, and implementing innovative, creative solutions for complex technical design challenges.
Demonstrated experience in developing block diagrams and logic flow charts. Translate detailed design into computer software.
Demonstrated experience assisting in establishing standards for information systems procedures.
Demonstrated experience identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Demonstrated experience in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions and approaches to problems.
Demonstrated experience in working both independently and in a team environment
Demonstrated experience identifying technology gaps in current capabilities and processes
Demonstrated experience in developing a project plan and workflow based on a project management model.
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem solving both technical and non technical issues.
Demonstrated experience in effectively understanding and communicating orally, in writing and interpersonally to various customers/audiences.
Demonstrated experience in conveying technical information to non technical individuals.
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem solving both technical and non technical issues.(e.g. equipment, systems, networks, computer operations, cover issues etc)
