General Dynamics Information Technology –currently looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team in support of a federal government agency. This position is for full-time salaried employment and will be located onsite at the customer’s location in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the creation of graphics, presentations, infographics and other visual communication products in support of the client. Responsibilities include:

  • Create visual graphics appropriate for communication channels and mediums including print and electronic (i.e., web, social media, presentations). Materials may be for external and/or internal usage. Graphic presentations should communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions.
  • Work with SMEs to develop creative briefs and concepts and to translating technical and statistical subject matter into visual communication products such as but not limited to web pages, factsheets, PowerPoint slides and presentations, infographics, etc.
  • Conceive, design, lays out, and coordinate editorial illustrations and creative artwork.
  • Provide consultation services with managing and ensuring the client’s brand and all other creative guidelines are adhered to and consistent in all communication materials.
  • May provide consultation services on creating videos, creating original graphics, and electronic tools and training as specified by the client.
  • Create and optimize images, PDFs and materials for the web and/or print reproduction using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc).
  • Assist with print reproduction such as but not limited to 3D modeled prints, books, manuals, brochures, flyers, posters, lithographs, and industry standard photographs.

Education:

  • BA/BS, 5+ years experience.

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • 3 Years demonstrated experience in imaging, computer graphics, illustration, communication, and web page development using technologies including HTML, Javascript, CSS, SQL, ASP, GIF, and JPG for web pages design.
  • 3D modeling/printing experience a plus
  • Video/Photography experience a plus
  • Experience reviewing and producing graphical elements for military communication materials
  • Strong proofing skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Federal plain language
  • Experience in working with social media and/or digital media channels
  • Ability to identify gaps in existing resources
  • Self-sufficient (needs little supervision)
  • Sound interpersonal communication, telephone, email and business etiquette
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience in facilitating quick turn-around for complex graphics/layouts
  • Experience in assisting in the preparation of graphics and/or documents for public audiences
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook)
  • Must be U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance/SCI
