The Systems Analyst supports the execution of data analysis operations throughout the reporting and analysis life cycle. The analyst will work with data analysts and systems analysts to design and implement reporting products using the Tableau platform.
Work with business owners and data analysts to develop technical specifications for reporting products
Work with data analysts and content teams to collect the requirements and business rules for the desired reports
Write SQL extract queries for the required data if needed
Implement the requirements using Tableau calculated fields, groups, sets and filters.
Prototype reporting products
Work with the Senior Systems analysts to build connections, develop reports, and publish data to the development and production servers
Extract data weekly for the various Tableau reports and publish the data to the Tableau Server
Create documentation and presentations
Provide ongoing training for data analysts and staff on development of worksheets and dashboards in Tableau.
Assist data analysts with data preparation to create data sources for use in Tableau.
Work with the Senior Systems analysts and Tableau technical support to troubleshoot issues.
Help create governance processes and procedures.
Provide technical support and assistance to Tableau users, including managing access and troubleshooting issues.
Support data collection, analysis and visualization projects as needed, including data modeling, database creation, and technical support.
Recommend technical, automated solutions for manual processes.
Provide recommendations to streamline and improve current business processes.
Requires BS/BA degree
Requires BA/BS with at least 3 years of experience in database administration and data analysis
Experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in a government agency
Experience with Asset Management and Configuration Management
Expert user of Tableau, SQL, MS Office (Excel and Access)
Experience in a scripting language such as R
Experience with data science tools such as STATA
Experience in building and managing relational databases (MS Access, Oracle, etc.)
Excellent analytical and writing skills
Strong verbal communication skills
Highly motivated and collaborative
