Performs advanced SATCOM network administration. Schedules and performs conversions, outages, and cutovers for SATCOM networks. Monitor, evaluate, troubleshoot, track and/or evaluates hardware, software, and other SATCOM and transport related problems. Includes for both Hardware listed in the DOD and for newer commercially available equipment acquired during the performance of these duties. Provides technical expertise for performance and/or configuration of SCPC and IP-over-SATCOM networks to include FDMA and TDMA technologies. Coordinates with all responsible stakeholders and sites to resolve SATCOM incidents.  Provides training on SATCOM system integration and operation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires an in-depth working knowledge of SATCOM and terrestrial transport delivery systems and technologies
  • Basic business communication skills
  • Able to work with others to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes
  • Able to analyze network performance, conduct statistical tests and create solutions to network and system problems
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network measurement criteria and be exact in assessments
  • Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
