GDIT is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual for the position of Senior Public Health Analyst/Technical Writer to join our team in support of the CDC’s Pandemic Preparedness Coordination Unit (PPCU).  This position is for fulltime employment.  The position is a hybrid role with most work done remotely but there is an expectation for a periodic requirement to support activities on a CDC campus in the Atlanta area.

The purpose of this position is in the collaboration of internal and external communications materials to support program projects.  There is also a requirement to support CDC response activities as a coordinator when needed.  Coordinators are responsible for a variety of critical tasks to assure the operational needs of a team. 

Role may require some limited work on weekends and holidays as well as normal weekday hours as scheduled by team leadership.  As much of this work is done remotely, a reliable internet connection is essential.


  • Synchronize a variety of team activities to include the operational tempo, support requirements, and ensuring leadership is appraised of all program projects and assigned tasks.

  • Review of public health plans and documents to include edits and original writing as needed.

  • Manage and triage assigned functional Outlook mailbox(s) and MS Teams site(s) in accordance with established standard operating procedures to include requests for information/actions and ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept informed.

  • As a response coordinator support the specific key functions of operations, travel, task tracking, staffing, and clearance.

  • Communicate effectively with leadership ensuring the best support possible for the client.

  • Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders both internal to the CDC agency and external to include at the Federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal jurisdictional levels.


  • Bachelor's in related field and 4+ years related experience required, or Master's and 2+ years related experience.

  • Must be U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail


  • Master of Public Health (MPH) is preferred.

  • Superior written and verbal skills.  Must write succinctly, clearly and explain complex situations in plain English to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Practical experience in the public health field and curriculum exposure in a Master of Public Health program.

  • Experience supporting CDC response activities and completion of ICS100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 coursework.
