The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails. GDIT provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. GDIT supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas.

GDIT seeks a Senior Messaging/Collaboration Administrator (Exchange O365, MS Teams, MDM for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Infrastructure team.  The successful candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate technical and engineering skills with an attitude for success, dedication, and commitment.   U.S. Citizenship and background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background.  (Though the position is 8-5 M-F, the role requires flexibility to support issues or planned activities after hours, weekends and holidays as needed.)

Task and responsibilities in this customer-centric role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with periodic maintenance and upgrades (OS, drivers, firmware, patching)
  • Maintain functional knowledge of maintenance service levels and vendor Points of Contact (POCs)
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for reviews, technology and tool selection
  • Track and close assigned Incidents and/or Service Requests
  • Gather and compose deliverables when needed
  • Research and review new hardware, operating system and 3rd party technologies
  • Ability to explain and communicate both written and verbally area of expertise
  • Administer and maintain Exchange disaster recovery procedures and policies
  • Experience configuring Microsoft failover cluster for lightly available applications
  • Manage and support Exchange messaging system currently running on client physical servers and VMware
  • Candidate will provide 2nd level operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Assist Tier 1 with MaaS365 MDM troubleshooting when needed
  • Track and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as necessary
  • Perform user capacity/distribution management
  • Provide support for server tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance
  • Work closely with exchange/database administrators and engineers
  • Create and/or migrate Enterprise Mobility Management/Mobile Device Management (EMM/MDM) policies
  • Create and manage Enterprise Mobility Management/Mobile Device Management (EMM/MDM) compliance rules

Required Qualifications:

  • Expert level administration and configuration skills of a hybrid Exchange 2016/Exchange Online environment
  • Expert level administration and configuration skills supporting Microsoft Teams
  • Azure Active Directory Connect/Active Directory Federation Services (Azure AD/AD FS) experience in an enterprise environment
  • Configuration and integration of hybrid/cloud Enterprise Mobility Management/Mobile Device Management (EMM/MDM) solution and Microsoft 0365 environment
  • Enterprise Mobility Management/Mobile Device Management (EMM/MDM) policy creation and migration
  • Enterprise Mobility Management/Mobile Device Management (EMM/MDM) compliance rule creation and management

Candidate must meet or exceed these educational requirements:  

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and four-years relevant experience   
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six-years of relevant experience
  • No degree and ten years of directly applicable experience
  • Applicable certificate training with two-years undergraduate work can be considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Information Protection, Security & Compliance, Intune
  • Experience supporting RightFax or Enterprise Vault applications
