As the traumatic brain injury (TBI) Pathway of Care manager within the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center promotes state-of-the-science care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families to prevent and mitigate consequences of mild to severe TBI.

The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Program Director with DVBIC HQ operations and initiatives. S/he will follow the established guidance of the Program Director and DVBIC leadership, facilitate information flow between DVBIC Leadership, Program Managers, government and contract staff and contract company throughout DVBIC HQ and the Network Sites, oversee and execute all contract personnel actions – DVBIC HQ and network sites, workflow and operational procedures as outlined in contract requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform duties under the guidance of the Program Manager and DVBIC leadership.
  • Serve as the liaison between the DVBIC Leadership, contract company POC, Network Program Manager and DVBIC contract staff.
  • Facilitate information flow between DVBIC Leadership, the network program manager, government and contract staff and contract company throughout DVBIC HQ and the Network Sites.
  • Provide contract staff direct or indirect administrative supervision.
  • Ensure all medically licensed contract staff adhere to all local/state/federal requirements as required by their specialty, position and duty location.
  • Provide contract employee advice and coordination for personnel actions as requested and/or required.
  • Prepares program summaries and produces reports as required and/or requested.
  • Ensure the Network Program Manager files deliverable requirements on time.
  • Oversee and executes network site’s workflow and operational procedures regarding contract requirements.
  • Provide input regarding network site’s budgets to ensure usage is within contract requirement guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance with all contract requirements, schedules and provisions.

What You’ll Need:

  • Masters in management or health related field required (experience within one of the mentioned fields may be accepted in lieu of educational minimums).
  • 5+ years related health experience working with government agencies, contracting and program management.
  • Knowledge of large federal program management and federal budget process.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple sites and complex issues at any given time.
  • Must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a T3 security investigation.
