As our Software Development Project Manager, you will apply project management and technical knowledge to solve a variety of complex development challenges. You will utilize agile project management methodologies to ensure that our software development project stays on-track, on-time, and in budget. The successful candidate will have a proven record supporting Agile software development including minimal viable product development.  The ideal candidate will have Scrum Master experience and be able to support full agile lifecycle including sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives.

In this role you will bring the skills necessary to execute a project to ensure it meets all scope, schedule, resources and quality expectations through the entire project life cycle. Good oral and written communication skills are essential as are interpersonal skills essential to developing and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships.  This includes promoting a culture of openness and transparency between the GDIT technical team and CDC stakeholders to enables efficient and effective capture and translation of business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring priorities and resources are aligned to meet project timelines.   

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Support project efforts in defining scope, planning, executing, and reporting on strategic initiatives
• Manage and communicate detailed project plans, manages communication cadence and drives the team to meet tight deadlines.
• Lead project milestones and enable hands-on technical development, integration, and implementation
• Serve as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
• Present project progress, issues and mitigations to all stakeholders
• Collaborate with stakeholders inside your software development team to strategize on roadmaps for expansion of capabilities, technologies and governance
• Support the design and review of the technical architecture and supporting information technologies to compliance with IT Standards, including such areas as security, performance, capacity planning, backup / recovery, failover, and disaster recovery.
• Engage with stakeholders and supporting teams, ensuring customer expectations, satisfaction, risks and cost is managed appropriately as it relates to your team's activities
• Participate in architectural and design discussions as they pertain to Future State, Concepts, and planned or active Development & Engineering projects
• Brief stakeholders on planned and active projects and activities
• Your success will be measured through project-based deliverables associated with project milestones.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline
• 3 years' experience managing agile software development projects
• Experience with staff, financial, contract management
• Experience with Agile development methodologies required
• Relationship management experience
• Good oral and written communications skills required
• Experience with task management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
• Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance

Preferred qualifications: 

• Project Management Professional certification desired
• Scrum master certification desired
• Prior software development project management experience with CDC
