US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Candidate will join a dedicated team of 5 personnel directly supporting SOCEUR US BICES requirements. The SOCEUR team is part of the larger EUCOM support team responsible for US BICES throughout the EUCOM AOR.
Install network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, IP encryptors and collaboration endpoints
Utilizes network performance tools such as Netflow and Solarwinds to monitor network performance
Performs detailed network analysis of packets and protocol information. Determines and implements changes required to maintain network availability and predetermined service level agreements
Ensures network devices are compliant with DISA STIG requirements, performs scheduled reviews of the network security posture to ensure compliance
Evaluates and recommends the appropriate equipment to support upgrades and changes to the network. Responsible for evaluation and recommending new network technologies
Contributes to the development of enterprise standard procedures and process improvement. This includes writing documentation for network configuration management and standardization
Plans and executes detailed network changes and upgrades
Responsible for opening Cisco or other vendor warranty support cases and interfacing with technical support staff to completion of network incidents
Writes detailed plans for implementing complex enterprise level network changes including back out and recovery plans
Shares technical knowledge with peers and mentors junior level technicians
Utilizes analytical processes to troubleshoot and resolve network outages and degraded conditions
Participates in special projects as required
Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning tree protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP and SCCP
Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
Knowledge of current Cisco IOS software and hardware features. Knowledge of VOIP / collaboration systems. Knowledge of HAIPE based encryption devices
Perform in depth analysis of IP routing protocols to include BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
Configure and troubleshoot Multicast
Configure and troubleshoot DMVPN and GRE tunnels
Configure and troubleshoot H323 and SIP protocol
Produce network drawings and documentation
Perform network site surveys for new site installs
IP schema management utilizing Solarwinds IPAM
9+ years of network administration or engineering experience required.
Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Masters Degree or equivalent work experience required.
Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+ or equivalent) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
Additional specific certifications may be required
This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide
The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment
