  • Role Responsibilities:

    • Performs sustainment maintenance on 2-kW to 150-kW tactical power generators to include advanced medium mobile power sources generators involving installation and removal of generators from fixed and mobile locations, troubleshoots and rebuilds engines, alternate current (AC) systems, direct current (DC) systems, electronic control systems and other program logic controls to include electrical wiring and accessories.
    • Perform all aspects of mechanical and electronic systems troubleshooting and repair.
    • Performs inspection of generator components during their assembly, installation and adjustment phases of incorporation onto tactical power generation systems to ensure that the workmanship and materials conform to the original manufacturers’ specifications and maintenance manual procedures.
    • Ensures that all Work-In-Progress is properly documented as to the work performed and that corrective actions used, have the proper technical data references documented properly in the corrective action block and the work in progress steps.
    • Perform initial and finial inspections of all power generation equipment received and issued from the Regional Support Center (RSC).
    • Read and interpret schematic and engineering drawings and diagrams.
    • Performs inspections of system components, preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the lowest replaceable unit/component.
    • Perform operational test and return to service checks.
    • Perform logistic support requirements such as research, equipment and spare part inventories.
    • Maintain strong attention to detail.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.
    • Interact with all levels of the organization in a professional and tactful manner. 
    • Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast pace environment on multiple projects.
    • Work with minimal supervision, documents maintenance tasks via local or web- based reporting system, provides system functional briefings to customer and supervisor.
    • May be required to go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.
    • Majority of time spent providing repairs in a shop environment.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions.
    • Proactively contribute to the company’s policy of continuous improvement.
    • Complete necessary paper work which may include data entry and general use of relevant computer systems and software as directed.
    • Performs all additional assigned duties as required.

    The Ideal Candidate must have:

    • An active U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
    • 10 to 15 years’ proven experience in industrial or commercial field service, maintenance, overhauling of diesel engine, diesel generators, mechanical/electrical systems, HVACs, and hydraulic equipment.
    • Candidate must have 2+ years remaining on passport.
    • Individual passport must obtain 6 blank pages.
    • Thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to include blue prints and technical drawings.

    The Ideal Candidate will have:

    • BS or equivalent Military/Technical Experience. One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education.
    • Demonstrated experience performing Gasoline/Diesel Engine rebuild and Dynameter testing of rebuilt engines.
    • Two years in troubleshooting, fault finding, and repair of electrical equipment.
    • Working knowledge of electrical systems including secondary distribution and interior systems.
    • Knowledge of generator parallel systems.
    • Experience with the use of common hand and powered tools, fixtures, templates, and associated refurbishment and modification equipment.
    • Experience in working in hostile and austere environments.
    • Experience in stock control and asset management.
    • Master level, preferably in a mechanical maintenance field or equivalent experience.

    Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

    • Industry and trade certifications. Preference given for military certifications/experience.
    • A graduate of the US Army Tactical Power Generation Equipment Repairer (MOS 91D) Course or a graduate of a technical school or manufacturer's course of instruction.
    • Experience in a forward-facing customer support role.
    • Hands-on experience with electrical circuits, power cables, controls, and motors.
    • Knowledge of U.S. Army Safety Guidelines and OSHA Standards.
    • Transferable Kuwaiti residence 18 Visa
