In this role, a typical day will include:

Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical support for the engineering and integration of systems and capabilities in NGA's Enterprise architecture and serve as a liaison between NGA's Warfighter Support Division (NGA/TEX) and NGA support teams supporting various combatant and component commands (CENTCOM, SOCOM, AFSOC, MARSOC).  

The Senior Systems Engineer will directly support our government customer as a liaison in the communication, strategic planning, and integration of tactical solutions to meet expeditionary requirements of various NGA support teams and combatant and component commands (CENTCOM, SOCOM, AFSOC, MARSOC).   This position is located in Springfield, Virginia (NGA East Campus, GDIT Patriot Ridge).    Candidate responsibilities will include: 

•Working directly with the Warfighter Support Office (NGA/TEX) in the assessment of technical capabilities that align with NGA's operational and strategic plans. 

•Identify areas of gaps and inefficiencies, provide specific inputs and recommendations, and work hand-in-hand with the government customer to obtain support and authorization for delivering solutions.

•Assess requirements changes and their impacts to NGA's Enterprise architecture.

•Analyze existing SE processes and provide guidance and leadership to implement more systematic and rigorous processes to support the management of change, both within and external to the program. 

•Works with other Intelligence Community agencies to communicate project schedules and ensure all outside agency dependencies are accounted for and requirements met. 

•Provide technical training on tactical capabilities (Artemis) and engage and various user teams on integrating those capabilities into their daily workflows.

The candidate will be required to exhibit good technical, communication and customer support skills:

•Knowledge of communications, imagery delivery systems, GEOINT cataloging, discovery, and retrieval methods as well as Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. 

•Knowledge and/or experience supporting special operations and tactical operations. 

•Knowledge and/or experience with GEOINT data, applications, systems, analysis.

•Knowledge and/or experience with transport/communications supporting the tactical edge.

•Knowledge and/or experience with tactical ISR unmanned aerial systems. 

•Experience in working with intelligence analysts to propose, design, develop, and implement software solutions to improve their daily workflows.  

•Must be able to effectively communicate across various agencies (NGA, DIA), combatant and component commands (CENTCOM, SOCOM, AFSOC, MARSOC), and external contractor teams.  Must be able to brief senior-level managers and organizations. 

•Has a historical understanding of NGA, CENTCOM, and SOCOM programs, capabilities and strategic requirements. 

•Must possess excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised or with a small team. 

•Must be able to manage priorities across multiple projects.

•Must be able to work within tight schedule times while delivering high quality products to the customer.
