GDIT is looking for a Systems Administrator to support our government customer in Charleston, South Carolina. The candidate will provide technical assistance on a wide variety of IT functions to support the mission of the government organization. The candidate will be responsible for supporting servers and network components and will also provide IT support to end-users on hardware, software, and network related incidents, requests, questions, and use.
The successful candidate will have a wide range of skills and knowledge in computer hardware and software as well as networking systems in use at the organization. Have experience in the set-up, configuration, use, and troubleshooting of computers and servers.
Support Deployment and Maintenance of servers and network equipment
Respond and Resolve warning alerts received from monitoring systems for servers, switches, routers, and network printers
Manage and monitor electronic files and folders; ensure rights/permissions are correctly implemented
Resolve security vulnerabilities identified by scanners in a timely fashion.
Administer virtual desktop clients and thin clients
Administer Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and Disk Encryption on end-user devices
Provide day-to-day telephone support to the end-user community including staff, and visitors at the organization.
Monitor and track existing incidents and service requests through closure.
Follow standard escalation procedures.
Assists end-users with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software including, but not limited to: Network Connectivity, MS Office 365, Microsoft Outlook, tablet/smartphone support, basic Windows Operating System concepts and Apple (Mac) devices.
Work well in a team environment with a diverse end-user population.
Work with inventory system to maintain up-to-date inventory records.
Troubleshoot Wi-Fi related issues with staff and students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with both internal/external customers and staff
Willingness to travel for training or as otherwise needed.
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance providing excellent customer service always, to include maintaining a good work ethic and assisting others when needed.
