Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy's Personnel Modernization (PersMod) team is searching for a Systems Administrator Associate to join their program in New Orleans, LA.
As the Systems Administrator , you are responsible for implementing and maintaining the program virtual infrastructure in the AWS Cloud. Duties include:
Daily systems administration, monitoring, and system maintenance on RHEL 7 and Windows 2012 and 2016 virtual servers
Performs software installations, upgrades, patch installs to operating systems and layered software packages
Diagnosis and troubleshoot problems related to the OS, hardware, network, and related software
Ensures that performance and security of virtual servers meet the needs of network users
Troubleshoot and configure servers in a virtual environment
Assist end users on the proper use of hardware and software
Daily written and oral communications with coworkers and leadership
Perform periodic SCAP and STIG requirements needed to harden servers
Conduct basic hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Document work for leadership, update/create Standard Operating Procedures, and brief staff and customers various tasks
BA/BS (or 4 years of equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience with Linux and network/systems administration to include administering, optimizing, and configuring Linux and Windows servers; and installing and configuring applications new servers in a virtual environment (AWS preferred)
Working knowledge of Oracle databases
OS or DBA certification
Experience with Tableau, Informatica, Redhat JBoss and WSO2
Navy PERSMOD experience
