Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an AEGIS Systems Network Analyst to join their team at Wallops Island, VA.

This is an onsite position:

In this role, an typical day will include:

  • Perform System Administration on SCSC tactical information systems and shall troubleshoot, maintain, repair, provide access control, monitor, and log analysis for all tactical systems

  • Operate and maintain the tactical audio-visual equipment and distribution system with viewing and recording capability in multi-media and in multi-locations utilizing electronic switching systems

  • Develop and maintain unique site setup and switching procedures

  • Support design and development of site specific alterations to existing combat systems to include installation, integration, interface, and activation of new equipment with existing equipment or systems specifically by identifying integration and switching requirements and performing testing to validate equipment functionality

  • Provide engineering review and critique of combat system and ship integration proposals and efforts

  • Document and maintain system designs with Interface Block Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Room Arrangement Diagrams, and other documentation

  • Participate in the management of the obsolescence of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components, to include assessments and recommendations of equipment for Government review and approval

  • Design and recommend improvements for implementation of switching systems for Government review and approval

  • Perform setup for mission events which involves coordination with the customer(s), Combat Systems, and Operations departments to identify event equipment, establishment of interface switch paths, performing system checkout, and system verification

  • Perform systematic take down / reset at the completion of the mission event

  • In the event of a equipment or element casualty, the AEGIS Systems Network Analyst shall take necessary steps to correct the problem unless a workaround is required. If a workaround is required, the AEGIS Systems Network Analyst shall contact the Test Director with the recommendation and obtain approval prior to implementation.

  • Set-up combat systems for events as per event run sheet and provide technical support during events

  • Provide supporting services for systems development and integration testing conducted by other DOD contractors and Government organizations using SCSC facilities, equipment and personnel

  • Provide project coordination support to include participation in meetings, discussions and communications to support the development of an execution plan for each project

Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance

  • BS Degree or equivalent

  • Security + CE certification

  • 5+ years experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and determining the root cause of failures and making recommendations for corrective action in Navy combat systems equipment.
