GDIT is seeking a Data Science Solution Architect with consulting skills to help drive the technical solutions needed to win our most complex, large-scale, and strategic pursuits - as well as extend our existing data analytics portfolio. This is one our most important customer facing roles, and it will give you the opportunity to join a lean Data and Analytics consulting practice to help define, execute, and grow GDIT’s data science capabilities across the enterprise.

You will help define how these capabilities meet our customers current and future needs and priorities, craft technical solutions responsive to those needs, and assist in shaping customer acquisitions. This position can be remote with potential travel to our headquarters in Falls Church, VA or to customer sites.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Develop effective and compelling briefings, proposal materials, reusable artifacts, and related materials for our customers, both internal and external.
Work with GDIT teams to help build data science competencies
Plan and help execute prototyping and technical implementation efforts
Evaluate emerging Data Science trends, tools, and services with a focus on AI
Support development of the Technical volumes and orals presentations for proposals.
Review proposals and provide critical feedback needed to strengthen our solution.
Execute prototyping and technical implementation efforts
Coach and advise solution architects and solution teams
Technical Skills Needed
Hands on expertise in data science and data wrangling best practices, tools, and techniques
Domain expertise in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning using Deep Learning Frameworks, Analysts Notebooks, and Spark/Python/R Libraries.
Domain expertise in Hadoop/Spark big data frameworks – including Open-Source and Commercial distributions (Databricks, Cloudera/Hortonworks, MapR) and Cloud-based services (AWS EMR, Azure HD Insight)
Experience with cloud-native data analytic solution architectures to bridge the gap between our client’s data and missions
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and collaborate on teams
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ Years of experience
4+ years of Data Science experience; 2+ years using AWS, Azure or Google cloud
Experience working with data science, programming languages, and database systems
Experience working with office productivity tools; delivery assurance and/or industry standards on deliverables
Ability to translate customer requirements and objectives into AI solutions and strategies
AWS, Azure or Google experience
AI Expertise using Deep Learning Frameworks, Analyst Notebooks, and Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing Packages (Python, Spark, R)
Experience with COTS, Open Source, and Cloud-Native data science tools
Experience developing and scaling engineering solutions for both structured and unstructured data
Experience with Data Lakes and NoSQL data repositories
Experience with Hadoop or Spark big data frameworks including Open-Source and Commercial distributions (Databricks, Cloudera/Hortonworks) and Cloud-based services (AWS EMR, Azure HD Insight)
Deep knowledge of data formats and structures, data storage, retrieval, transport, optimization, and serialization
Experience working with large data sets including data integration, data migration, analysis and visualization
Active Clearance (Secret, TS, Etc.) – we will utilize and hold your clearance
