Europe (EUR) Infrastructure Modernization Capabilities Set - RCDD Enterprise Engineer

GDIT has an opening for an OCONUS RCDD Enterprise Engineer position supporting the Army in Wiesbaden, Germany. This is an Infrastructure Modernization Capability Set contract that supports Combatant Command upgrade projects and their support elements within the 2nd Signal Command span of control including but not limited to the United States (U.S.) European Command (EUCOM) and African Command (AFRICOM), United States Army Africa (USARAF) and United States Army Europe (USAREUR) Areas of Responsibility (AoR).  Current operational capabilities are in need of modernization and expansion including but are not limited to Telecommunication Room (TR) modernization, Inside Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP), Audio Visual (AV) Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Voice-Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), Commercial Solution for Classified (CSFC), Multiple Independent Level of Security (MILS), Video Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router/ Secure Internet Protocol Router, Installation Campus Area Network (NIPR/SIPR, ICAN) and Wireless. The end-state objective is to provide a Unified Capabilities Requirements (UCR)-compliant converged (A/V and data) capability down to the EUCOM, AFRICOM, UFARAF, USAREUR and coalition Command and Control (C2) end users.

Job Description Summary:  Designs and develops voice communications architecture and VOIP telephone solutions for enterprise-wide network modernization.  Operates information processing hardware, computer systems, and electrical components

Job Description:  Responsible for designing the overall structure, performance, and deployment of a modernized voice, AV/VTC, and VOIP infrastructure to modernize the US Army’s network in Europe, Levant, United Kingdom, and in select locations in Africa.  Must follow US Army approved design architecture methodology, BICSI, and commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or provide Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for network architecture, systems design, installation of base networks, and determination of O&M support to include an ISP Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) to support the maintenance and clean-up of more than 71 major installations spread across Europe, UK, and Africa.  Must support on site surveys, weekly reports denoting survey results (except in extenuating circumstances), develop plan for procurement, deployment, and maintenance of networks.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required.

  • Minimum 10 years developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.

  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage and telecommunications systems.

  • Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective.

  • An active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI.

  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS, 7+ years’ experience
