GDIT is seeking a Project Scheduler/Planner to support a program with complex scheduling and tracking.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with the project team.

  • Provides project management support to IT development projects.

  • Assist PMO develop the Work Breakdown Structure and activity coding.

  • Integrate multiple project plans to a summary program portfolio plan. Identify and resolve resource and schedule conflicts and constraints among multiple projects.

  • Experience in providing detailed analysis of project schedules from project inception through the development phases to project completion.

  • Monitor project progress and provide weekly status updates.

  • Provide impact analysis of schedule changes; identify schedule variances and opportunities and proactively develop mitigation strategies for the Project Management team.

  • Prepare various planning documents/milestones including execution milestones and development schedules.

  • Prepare presentation packages including scheduling and analysis graphics.

  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing corrective actions.

  • MS Project experience supporting contracts in a DOD federal environment.


  • Requires 6+ of relevant program support and project scheduling experience

  • Requires demonstrated organizational and communications skills; as well as a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.

Required Skills: 

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications of Outlook; Word; and PowerPoint; and is skilled at performing data evaluation; formulas and metrics in Excel.

  • Familiarity with MS Project and some relevant experience in scheduling; critical path analysis; earned value management; and using scheduling software Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server for managing tasks; collaboration; managing timelines; measuring progress; and generating reports. 

  • Experience producing and managing a resource/cost loaded schedule for the life cycle of a project from concept to engineering/design to production and acceptance.
