The Health Program Analyst supports the management of health-focused federal grant programs for a government agency in Washington, DC. Duties include:

Monitoring and Technical Assistance:

  • Support the management of the Refugee Health Promotion discretionary grant program; complete grant actions using GrantSolutions; review interim and final reports; engage regularly with grantees for any and all questions/issues related to grant administration; engage regularly with the Office of Grants Management to ensure compliance with budgetary regulations
  • Facilitate monitoring site visits of state refugee health programs, namely the RMA, RMS and RHP grant programs
  • Provide technical assistance to state programs

Partnership and Communications:

  • Participate in meetings and conferences
  • Coordinate website redesign
  • Lead health education and outreach activities
  • Provide training to new State Coordinators
  • Continually develop and implement ways to engage grantees and share best practices

Data Management and Epidemiology

  • Analyze State Plans and other health data from various federal and state sources
  • Visualize Health Promotion and other health data using data visualization software

This position is based in Washington, DC and requires a Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one. Domestic travel is required 4-8 times a year. Travel will be reimbursed as per Federal travel regulations. 

Education/Equivalent Training Required

Requires BS/BA degree in a social or health science field.  Master of Public Health (MPH) preferred but not required.


  • Requires 5 years with BA/BS
  • Requires 4 or more years of experience in refugee health and grant management
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical skills
