Knowledge Manager for Engineering Services Program
In year 3 of a 10 year program supporting the Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security, GDIT is seeking a talented individual to lead our Global Security Engineering knowledge management team.
Support Knowledge Management goals to ensure the right information is delivered to the right person, at the right place, at the right time, and in the appropriate format to enable efficient and effective use of that information throughout the service or product lifecycle.
Develop processes and procedures for organizing, distilling, storing, and presenting information in ways that improve comprehension, aid problem solving, reduce learning curves, support strategic planning, and decision making.
Maintain the quality, continued relevance, and accessibility of data, information, and knowledge of systems and components.
Support service restoration efficiency by facilitating knowledge transfer from more experienced, Tier 3 personnel to less experienced T2 and T1 personnel.
Ensure engineered solutions and changes to engineered systems are transitioned to deployment personnel and systems operators accompanied by all necessary and relevant information for proper installation, testing, and operational use, maintenance, training materials, and troubleshooting guides.
Create statistics from knowledge management development, approval, and utilization for the purpose of gaining valuable management decision-making information to improve program performance.
Identification of knowledge gaps and development of remediation plans ensuring all technical security systems supported by the program have active, relevant knowledge articles
Evaluation of and incorporation of learning styles, visualizations, driving intended outcomes and reinforcing behaviors, and use of knowledge events or media.
Develop, assign, and oversee the annual engineering documentation review processes maintaining technology documentation style guidance incorporating industry best practices (ex. NIST, GPO Style Manual, etc.) and customer preferences.
Perform technical editing, copy editing, and supervisory editing of all documentation types for a variety of internal and external audiences.
Coordinate documentation editing, review, and approval workflows, and utilize workflow data for performance reporting.
Oversee the production and release of field notices for worldwide distribution when documents are published to the online knowledge repository.
Manage knowledge through the lifecycle and eventual archiving of documentation as needed to ensure an absence of obsolete information is removed from our libraries and repositories.
Manage employees and subcontractors from recruiting, to the establishment of goals and objectives, through evaluation of performance
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree from an accredited university and 5+ years of experience developing, managing, and improving engineering documentation and other forms of knowledge transfer media
Best practice certifications desired in knowledge management, ITIL, ISO, etc.
