Job Description

How a Java Developer Will Make an Impact:

  • Leveraging the current design concept and architecture and, with agreement from stakeholders, recommending changes that contribute to the quality and maintainability of the applications.
  • Defining all design concepts and architectures in a software design document. The design shall include modeling a solution for each requirement, evaluating it against the original requirements, and transforming it into data and software architecture.
  • Providing a capacity plan for the applications to ensure application availability and responsiveness.
  • Providing infrastructure recommendations for the applications.
  • Providing assistance in maintaining data integrity.
  • Compiling with coding standards to develop software modules that implement the detailed design.
  • Leveraging enterprise services to the greatest extent possible when performing system development and system enhancements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Experience developing enterprise Java applications
  • Ability to code and maintain PL/SQL packages, functions, and triggers.
  • Familiarity with the Spring framework to create web services and JMS listeners using both autowiring and an application context XML file
  • Ability to identify the correct AWS service given a technical requirement and to configure that service within the customer’s environment
  • The ability to maintain existing Spring micro services and create new microservices.
  • Experience with J2EE applications that use JMS to manage guaranteed delivery of messages.
  • Using Jenkins to manage the continuous build of the codebase and fixing issues as they arise.
  • Familiarity with use of JBoss to serve up J2EE applications, including configuration of the JBoss container and troubleshooting issues with applications deployed in JBoss.
  • Prior experience using an agile software development methodology, the Scrum methodology in particular.
  • Familiarity with Puppet scripts with a puppet master to manage the state of the servers that host J2EE applications.
  • Familiarity with the angular UI framework.
  • Able to use Terraform to configure AWS services.
  • Experience using Ansible for DevOps pipeline.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Can-do attitude and aptitude to scale process.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 10+ years of experience
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Poly
  • Location: Chantilly, VA - Customer site
