Systems Engineer- AWS, Linux, Windows - REMOTE - US Citizenship required

Opportunity for an experienced Senior Task Lead/System Engineer - Hosting Services to join an IT Operations Project for a federal government system. The candidate will provide engineering support for large enterprise windows environment.  Candidate will be responsible for engineering, deploying virtualized windows environment supporting web servers, database servers, domain controllers etc.,

Roles and Responsibilities

The Senior Task Lead/SME shall have experience in supporting infrastructure/cloud/datacenter operation services and be able to see the “big picture” while focusing on the data operations solutions (physical (DHS Data Centers, Cloud, Hybrid). This resource shall also have working knowledge of numerous vendors’ products such as Cisco, VMware, Windows/Unix/Linux environments, VMware’s vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V on a set of enterprise-level IT systems and DevOps and ITIL processes.

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in System Engineering supporting infrastructure/cloud /datacenter operation services
• Analysis related to design, development, and integration of hardware and software to support
• large scale Windows/Unix/Linux environments
• CISCO CCNP certified with professional-level skills focused on the data center solutions, technologies and best practices to design, implement, and manage a modern data center
• 10 years’ experience testing large scale Windows/Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience performing a variety of engineering and operational related assignments associated with Storage operations, and virtualization software (VMware’s vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V0 on a set of enterprise-level IT systems.
• 10 years’ experience writing scripts with a scripting language
• Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes
• Experienced in AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud Services, and other Cloud environments
• Responsible for operational availability of all the systems hosted on the infrastructure
• Support planning and building windows infrastructure supporting COOP & DR plans
• Support information assurance process in a technical role by complying with technical controls, technical checklists etc.,
• Assist and mentor junior members on the team

Required Education and Experience

• 10 years of analysis related to design, development, and integration of hardware and software to support large scale Windows environments with virtualization
• 10 years’ experience testing large-scale Windows environments.
• Experience performing a variety of engineering and operational related assignments associated with SAN, NAS and Storage operations, backup operations, and virtualization software (VMware’s vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V on a set of enterprise-level IT systems.
• 10 years’ experience writing scripts with a scripting language, with knowledge of ANSIBLE
• Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes
• Experienced in AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud Services, and other Cloud environments

The position is permanent remote working from home with expected travel to current program locations and new business opportunities across the country when needed. Travel is very limited for the current portfolio but could potentially expand to both national and overseas locations as the portfolio grows.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 8+ years of experience

The likely salary range for this position is $108,000 - $162,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
