Overview 

ARMA-Global is currently pursuing qualified candidates in support of a USSOCOM Specialty Services contract.  USSOCOM has a requirement to provide enterprise-wide information technology service and distribution to USSOCOM and all of its respective components and Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs) through a more modern, flexible, scalable, performance-based service management and delivery framework known as Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contracts (SITEC).

Position 

Wireless Network Engineer - Intermediate 

 

Location 

Ft. Bragg , Fayetteville NC 

Responsibilities 

With a wide range of knowledge, evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes and sets standards. Maintain a complex range of wireless and wired computer network components and systems. Provide client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities. Plans and coordinates computer wireless network initiatives. Researches, evaluates and recommends new wireless computer network equipment and technologies. Devise solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Provide internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients. Works with other network professionals as directed to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

Provide enterprise level design, support, and monitoring for wireless and wired networks. This would include performing configuration, administration, troubleshooting and support of networking devices, WAN/LAN optimization systems, VoIP/RoIP/Video, and encryption devices. Exhibit strong technical skills related to wireless networking technologies including but not limited to: 802.11n, ARUBA, Access Points, EIGRP, route redistribution, route filtering, Multicast, QoS, NBAR, GRE tunnels, Layer 2/3 switching, interVLAN routing, NAT, VPNs Spanning Tree, standard/extended ACLs, PKI, TACACS, Solarwinds, Riverbeds, and encryption devices.   Additional responsibilities include auditing of network/system devices to ensure standards compliance, building mobile communications packages, and working on projects. 

  • 802.11 and ARUBA wireless experience required (ACMA preferred) 

  • Core Routing and Switching: EIGRP, GRE tunnels, InterVLAN routing, redistribution, ACLs, Multicast, QoS, NBAR, NAT, VPN, Layer 2/3 switching, HSRP, Spanning tree 

  • Supplement Routing and Switching: TACACS, VoIP (Cisco Call Manager), RoIP (Wave), LAN/WAN optimization (Riverbed), monitoring solutions (Solarwinds/NetMRI), encryption devices (KG175, KG250, etc) 

  • Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Experience 

  • CCNA Wireless or equivalent certification required 

  • CCNA Security or 8570 IAT Level II certified 

  • ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred 

  • Secure Wireless, Public Key Infrastructure, and mobile device experience preferred 

  • Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of network operations 

  • Good communications skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through  

  • Can effectively deliver training; possess good consulting skills 

  • May be required to provide clear and effective direction to less experienced staff 

  • Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve complex problem 

  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments 

  • Must closely follow network protocols and methodology 

 

Security Requirements 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance 

 

Physical Demands 

  • Lift over 35 LBS 

  • Pass DoD’s medical requirements if position is OCONUS 

 

 Work Environment 

  • Work environment is administrative office  

 

Education Requirements 

  • BS or equivalent +8 yrs. experience in the Information Technology field
