We are GDIT. GDIT is looking for a Research Scientist who would be local to Dayton, Ohio area and who would be able to obtain clearance.

  • Provides scientific research design, execution, and analysis support to Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) research projects focused on Trust in Autonomy.

  • Contributes to or develops study design, study analysis plan, and data collection instruments. Develops research protocol and executes data collection.  

  • Contributes to final reports summarizing study results and be able to lead final report development.

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment to solve problems and implement solutions.

  • Represents the company within professional associations and at professional conference.

  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously; works independently.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology – Experimental, Industrial Organizational or similar

  • Ph.D. is desired

  • Note: No previous experience required, however professional experience is desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Some background Biology or Physiology is required

  • R programming experience is required – should have sound foundation in programming

  • Ability to develop and follow research methodology and protocol.

  • Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols.

  • Ability to design, organize, and coordinate scientific research projects.

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs routine scientific research tasks requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Uses prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace, efficiency, safety and environmental practices.

  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.

  • Designs, performs, and/or oversees experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
