GDIT is currently seeking a Configuration Manager to provide technical support for a new program that provides agency-wide Enterprise IT support. The Configuration Manager will serve in a vital program role, responsible for managing the functional requirements, design and operational information throughout the product’s life cycle.
• Provides configuration management (CM) support to assigned projects • Responsible for CM of developmental and operational systems • Creates and maintains software, hardware and documentation configuration baselines • Develops or modifies CM plans, policies and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system • Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements baselines to system end-of-life • Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software, licenses, media, and other IT assets • Ensures that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards • Tracks all problems and changes in product documents/software and reports changes, controls standard operating procedures and current configurations • Uses or recommends automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures
Required Skills: o Bachelor’s Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience o Proven working experience as a Configuration Manager for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks o Experience performing hardware and software configuration audits o Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication and media labeling o An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process o Excellent communication skills o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards o Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph
