Look at internal or industry data and use it to answer business questions, then communicate those answers to other teams in the company to be acted upon. Be able to look at data, assess its effectiveness and identify strengths and weaknesses. This would involve accessing the data, probably cleaning it, performing some statistical analysis to answer the relevant business questions, and then visualizing and communicating the results. Keep abreast of industry trends.


Skills required: 

  • Intermediate to advanced skills with popular BI packages such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
  • Intermediate data science programming in Python,
  • Intermediate SQL queries
  • Data cleaning
  • Data visualization
  • Probability and statistics
  •  Communicating complex data analysis clearly and understandably to people with no statistics or programming background
  • Strong mathematics skills (e.g., statistics, algebra)
  • Advanced ability to perform exploratory data analysis
  • Experience with common data science toolkits
  • Working knowledge of statistics
  • Exceptional technical writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Visual portfolio required
  • Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
  • Analyzes organizational data and conducts statistical analysis.
  • Applies mathematical calculations to recommend solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Models and evaluates the potential impact of data changes.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Develops innovative strategies and quantifies the competitive performance of the organization's operations and/or markets.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience or the equivalent combination of education/training and/or work/military experience.

Active Public Trust or Secret clearance.
