General Duties:

  • Maintain Windows systems in a VMWare ESXi virtual environment (VMWare 6.x and VMWare Horizon 6.x); configure and troubleshoot virtualized system hardware and peripheral access issues.
  • Manage a Microsoft Active Directory environment and common services (DNS, email, file, and print services) in configurations representative of DoD environments.
  • Implement DISA STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) requirements for Microsoft operating systems, services, and roles (DNS, AD, etc.), and applications (MS Office).
  • Create, secure, maintain, and deploy standardized Windows 10 workstation images; create and manage domain accounts for large user communities in support of events.
  • Deploy system updates and patches, to both GIG-connected and isolated networks, utilizing Microsoft Windows Software Update Services (WSUS).
  • Conduct daily system maintenance activities including log reviews and connectivity checks to maintain project infrastructures and systems in a ready-to-use state.
  • Physically install server, workstation and peripheral devices in equipment racks and user workspaces.
  • Write technical documentation of implementations and troubleshooting results.
  • Occasionally travel in support of network events.

Preferred Skills:

  • Deploying and configuring Microsoft SQL in a secure environment using DISA STIG checklists; assist with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of web applications and applications that leverage SQL database services.
  • Deploying and configuring XMPP chat server and clients (OpenFire, Jabber, etc.).
  • Experience implementing Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI).
  • Ability to perform technology research and identify new technologies that could be warfighter enablers. 
  • Experience in the integration and assessment of emerging communications capabilities.
  • Experience in development of appropriate technology assessment methodologies; development and execution of C4I system data collection plans; and professional presentation of analysis in reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 
  • Educational equivalency for this position is defined as at least nine (9) years of experience maintaining and managing large-scale computer systems.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance and be eligible for Top Secret.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be certified DOD 8570.1-M IAT Level 2 (current baseline security and operating environment certifications).
