GDIT has an opportunity for a thought leader to provide architectural guidance, technological recommendations and transformation strategies and solutions in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Enterprise Service Desk Modernization Program. The VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide migration of its IT infrastructure and support solution, and GDIT will provide technical services for VA on this new managed services program. What Youll Be Doing:
We are looking for a talented and experienced ITSM Innovation Architect who will be responsible and accountable for ensuring continuous innovation of solutions to drive business value. This position is expected to provide strategic vision, solutions and roadmaps while driving architectural recommendations to ensure that technology, processes and people provide capabilities to support the business strategy and value chain execution. The Architect will drive the Managed Services transformation solutions innovation for the VA.
This position will require mix of technical excellence, strong executive communication/interaction, customer service skills and extensive IT service management process knowledge. Specific responsibilities include:
Drive the design, development and delivery of client-centric innovative solution architecture.
Serve as a technical leader and evangelist for emerging trends, new technologies, process and governance.
Design and lead the implementation of technical solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure business and IT alignment around areas of technical responsibility
Stay abreast of innovative technologies and provide periodic assessments of new opportunities and challenges
Define program solution architecture standards, patterns and practices.
Define the development and implementation of governance and support structures in support of technology solutions
Develop businesses cases to demonstrate the accretive value generation of each innovation understand investment, return on investment, cashflow and non-monetary value generation.
Actively pursue solution and operational enhancements, and innovation to provide continuous improvement.
Work with vendors for service delivery and evaluating and implementing new technologies.
Support vendor RFI(s) and procurement actions to acquire proposed technologies on behalf of the VA and/or GDIT
Develop methodologies for the ongoing assessment of solution performance and the identification of problem areas
What Youll Need (required):
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.
20 years of IT experience.
5+ years of proven experience developing and delivering enterprise technical solutions to meet business objectives.
5+ years of proven experience with large and complex ITSM engagements
Proven ServiceNow technologies expertise.
4 years’ experience with ServiceNow implementations.
Demonstrable experience in developing high-quality, well-structured, and client-ready deliverables.
Proven skill of progressive/visionary thinking.
Proven success delivering solutions in a complex, rapidly changing environment.
Demonstrated experience interacting with and influence Senior Federal resources up to an including agency CIO(s) and CIO direct staff.
Strong conceptual strength, strategic thinking, problem solving, technical and analytical skills.
Developed communication and diplomacy skills with a strong ability to persuade, influence and effectively embrace client and stakeholder relationships
Fundamental understand of service methodologies and abilities to support complex financial modeling to generate compelling business cases
Ability to work under pressure and be highly pro-active in prioritizing issues
Ability to adapt and respond rapidly to changing priorities and demands
What Would Be Even Better (preferred):
Master’s degree in related field.
