Systems Engineer

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a DBA supporting the customer, you will be trusted to be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of Oracle, MYSQL, PostgreSQL databases on Windows, Linux and Cloud based platforms and applications. In this role, a typical day will include but not limited to:

  • Work in close collaboration with a group of Network Administrators, System Engineers, and Infrastructure Engineers
  • Use ETL experience to migrate Oracle databases to PostgreSQL, MySQL or NoSQL instances to traditional and non-traditional platforms
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity
  • Diagnose, isolate and expediently resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure
  • Develop methods of ensuring that data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated
  • Develop and recommend data management policies, standards, practices and sec-urity measures to ensure effective and consistent data management operations
  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience
  • Strong experience in SQL, PL/SQL, Linux/Unix scripting
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge with Amazon Web Services technologies to include EC2, S3, RDS, Cloud Watch, Cloud Formation
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge working in a DevOps environment
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

BA/BS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Core hours 9am-3pm. Office is open from 6am-6pm.
