This is part of a large initiative for the Department of Commerce (DoC) where GDIT has the primary responsibility of integrating several cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers with legacy DoC systems into a holistic shared services solution and deploying this solution across the 12 bureaus within the DoC.Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to identify audience’s training needs; collaborates with contractors or vendors to develop and administer trainings
  • Identifies best method of training delivery based upon training needs
  • Creates instructional goals and content by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods
  • Creates training materials/aids (script, video, documentation, audio, computer graphics, etc.)
  • Facilitates trainings and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities and measure effectiveness for continuous improvement
  • Instructs, supports, and provides various learning approaches that are centralized and decentralized, on-site and off-site, and train-the-trainer and train-the-help desk
  • Stays abreast of training and development research:  learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus three years of related experience
  • Two or more years of experience with adult learning techniques and creating trainings
  • Experience with content development tools and/or software
  • MUST be a US citizen
  • Work on-site in Washington, DC (when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and client returns to site)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience administering curriculum and/or content in a Learning Management System
  • Training or Instructional Design certification
  • Experience working in scaled Agile framework team
  • Visual design skills and experience creating storyboards
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and Microsoft Teams capabilities
  • Familiarity with service delivery operations, HR case processing and terminology 

This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.
