Job Description

We are GDIT. The people supporting and securing some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the country.

GDIT is seeking an Oracle/Java Application Developer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE 's) Office of Corporate Information Systems Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Support Services of their Corporate Business Systems (CBSOM). As a Senior Application Programmer, you will serve on a team of with cyber security and identity professionals to design and implement a digital identity and federated authentication solution for a suite of DOE business applications

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leverage knowledge of enterprise application authentication methods to implement application updates required to support the use of federated authentication and multi-factor authentication via SAML, Open Connect, or OAuth.
  • Works closely with application developer resources to install, integrate, and optimize the federated authentication and authorization solution supporting an Oracle/Java application portfolio.
  • Serves as a technical SME to support and/or orchestrate the Java/Oracle application updates required to support the integration of an updated user authentication solution that leverages MFA technologies
  • Assist in development, implementation, and testing of application code changes required to successfully integrate digital identity and federated authentication solutions
  • Supports the development and update of application configuration and end-user documentation to reflect the newly introduced federated authentication model
  • Works with Business Analyst and Cyber Architect to interpret Business Requirements into a Technical Solution
  • Responsibilities include translating business requirements into software design specifications using standard design methodologies focused in OID, OUD, OIM, OAM and OAAM components
  • Collaborates with developers, system engineers, and software and/or business testers on system integration and end-to end testing
  • Works with other application developers and system engineers to define infrastructure requirements based on technical specifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience in Oracle/Java development expertise.  Without a degree 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Deep understanding of application user authentication (e.g., using SAML) methodologies and the associated code development and/or use of authentication middleware components
  • Five (5) years of experience using JavaScript-based UI framework, JavaScript & jQuery, REST APIs, WCF, Oracle and SQL databases, and stored procedures 
  • Experience in full software development life cycle (SDLC) including design, testing, deployment, documentation, and support activities
  • Must be able to work concurrently on multiple projects, adjust to changes in priorities, and respond efficiently and effectively to emergency situations.
  • US Citizenship required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $104,000 - $156,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
