GDIT's Military Health team is hiring an Education Project Manager to manage health/ clinical education projects for the Defense & Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) located in Silver Spring, MD. As the traumatic brain injury (TBI) Pathway of Care manager within the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) promotes state-of-the-science care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families to prevent and mitigate consequences of mild to severe TBI.

The Education Project Manager will be a responsible for supporting the management of all DVBIC Education Program Strategic Initiatives in partnership with the Project leaders. The Project Coordinator will work closely with identified site or HQ based Project Leaders to plan and then guide projects from initial project approval through final project delivery.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Planning responsibilities include determination of resources, time-lines, and budgets.
  • Project Management of the development of education materials to include development of plans, schedules, risk and issue assessment and avoidance, and communication strategies.
  • Management to the plan includes managing to agreed project milestones and budgets, ongoing and reporting on all project activities, and team leadership.
  • Identifying and resolving any project conflicts, shortfalls, and requirement discrepancies (the position will have project level management for all internal headquarter education section team members on the projects). 
  • Provide appropriate information for leadership decision making on project viability
  • Support Project Lead in the planning of activities tied to key project milestones
  • Schedule Management Coordinate all strategic initiative project activities with the Project Leads to achieve scheduled milestones. Assure all task leaders are aware of their activity due dates and intervene where required to adjust team activities and support task leaders in the project management tasks.
  • Maintain appropriate coordination between parallel project activities
  • Assure all project stakeholders are aware of project timing.
  • Enable effective resource planning for all organizations providing resources to the project.

What You'll Need:

  • Master's Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR PhD (strongly preferred) and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with project planning/ management to include development of end-to-end project plans for education strategic initiatives, which include supported budgets, timelines and resource utilization; Certification as a Project Management Professional preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment developing and/or managing the development of education products required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, ability to work with and lead interdisciplinary teams, knowledge of all facets of Program Management.
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain or maintain a favorable T3 security investigation.

  • Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care is strongly preferred.
