Jr. Cloud Architect

Join General Dynamic Information Technology (GDIT) to provide Cloud Architecture services for an exciting new contract. As a Cloud Architect you will be responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining enterprise cloud solutions for our federal customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of DevOps/SecOps Engineers to architect AWS solutions with the responsibility to ensure the customer maintains an overall cohesive integration with itself, partner systems, and solutions.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap of customer enhancements according to the customer’s decisions and directions.
  • Deliver end-to-end cloud architecture solutions
  • Expertise in cloud service delivery models
  • Design cloud infrastructure, virtual private cloud, virtual private network, relational database services, auto scaling, and computing resources to meet customers’ requirements.
  • Provide expertise in high availability, contingency planning, and automated provisioning.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture team and other stakeholders to determine enterprise tools, technologies and processes.
  • Support and advise on application assessment, migration and modernization
  • Create and provide documentation and training material to include disaster recovery, potential migration options, and  a self-assessment cloud migration checklist for customer.

Key Requirements:

  • U. S. Citizen and/or Green Card holder
  • Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance
  • Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification from one of the major Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • 2+ years’ AWS experience in a solutions delivery role.
  • 2+ years’ experience with solutions delivery using well-architected cloud frameworks, services, and technologies
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with development teams
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey cloud technologies and solutions
  • Expertise in developing, maintaining and contributing to technical and process documentation.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience working within a DevSecOps/DevOps environment, utilizing AWS services, solutions, and provisioning/automating AWS infrastructure, services and tools.
